Nike’s New RZN Core Has Heads Turning

For the second time in three years Nike Golf is re-vamping their golf ball.  This year’s improvements are based around the RZN core.  The revolutionary design is an industry first. Partnering with DuPont, a leader in science and innovation, the new Speedlock RZN one technology has the design feature of an interlocking core that results in a softer and more energy efficient material.  The Speedlock RZN core’s design interlocks with the compression layer to create a tighter fit promoting a greater energy transfer through all layers of the golf ball to get the tour level performance you’re looking for.  There is also a new coating on the golf balls to “melt” into the grooves of your golf clubs for better control. The combinations of softer compressions, a soft cover and a new coating translate to an improved sound, feel and distance. These golf balls are the real deal.  Here’s what Paul Casey and Rory McIlroy have to say.

“I want something that sounds fast off the club head, and something that sounds soft around the green,” Casey says. “This new ball with Speedlock Technology does that.”

“I’m finding that especially around the greens there is a big difference,” adds McIlroy. “The ball feels and sounds a lot softer. And even from inside 50 yards, it felt like the ball was getting a little more grip, a little more spin. My iron shots were great, and wedge shots were great, too.”

These new elements can be found in varying degrees, in Nike’s four new golf balls.  Each golf ball is designed with a different performance aspect in mind.  Choosing the correct golf ball will help you improve your game drastically.  The descriptions below will help you determine which golf ball is best for your needs.
