The last of our 2017 Holiday buying guides focuses on the top tech toys and swing trainers for golfers. As in our previous guides, we give you a variety of suggestions to consider, with brief descriptions of each. Here we go.
Top Tech Toys Buying Guide
Garmin S20 Watch
The Garmin S20 watch benefits you on and off the course. On the course, you see more than just the distance to the front, middle, and back of the green. You also get yardages to hazards on over 40,000 golf courses around the world. Keep your score right on your watch too.
Another cool feature is the AutoShot tracking. This feature automatically tracks and saves your shots while you play, giving you a clear picture of how far and the direction you’re hitting each club. After your round, you can analyze the information to improve your game. The watch sends the info to the Garmin Connect app on your phone. The app lets you share your data and compete with friends.
If you are “working” from the course, there’s no need to check your phone for emails or texts. The S20 watch pairs with your phone and sends notifications right to the watch.
The activity tracking feature tells you how many steps you take during your round. It also reminds you to stay active, the calories you’ve burned, and more.
Even with all of these features, the battery life is pretty good. You get 15 hours of battery life in full GPS modem, according to Garmin. For normal, daily use, you only need to charge every 8 weeks.
Bushnell Tour V4 Patriot Pack
The Bushnell Tour V4 Patriot Pack rangefinder is one of the most trusted devices available for accurate yardages. It has a range of features that give you the confidence of knowing exactly how far you are away from your target.
Pinseeker with Jolt technology finds the pin quickly. The unit also vibrates briefly, letting you know you are hitting the pin and not the tree behind the green. 5x magnification also makes finding the target quick and easy.
The Tour V4 has a range of 5-1,000 yards and can find the pin at 400+ yards with an accuracy within 1 yard.
The Patriot Pack includes the device, a carrying case, silicone protective sleeve, and a battery.

Izzo Swami Sport GPS
If you’re the type of golfer that only needs the basics in a GPS, the Izzo Swami Sport GPS is perfect. The device gives you accurate yardages to the front, middle, and back the green on over 30,000 courses.
You can easily hold the Swami Sport in your hand or clip it to your bag with the included carabineer.
The battery lasts about 8 hours and only takes 4 hours to fully recharge.
Callaway Zenith 9′ Net
As much as we’d like to, we can’t make it to the course every day to practice. For your off-course practice sessions, the Callaway Zenith 9′ net is an excellent option. The net is big enough to let you hit any club in your bag yet small enough to set up in multiple locations. You can easily set it up in the backyard, garage, or even inside in your man cave. Taking the net down when you’re done practicing is a breeze too. After you take it down, store it in the included carry case.
Puma Soundchuck Mini Speaker
Having fun on the course is a necessity. Increase your level of fun by jamming out to your favorite tunes with the Puma Soundchuck Mini Speaker. The speaker uses Bluetooth to connect to your phone.
A flexible silicone cord with carabineer attaches the speaker to nearly anything you need during your round. The main part of the speaker is also surrounded by silicone, keeping it safe from weather.
The rechargeable battery lasts about 6 hours, more than enough time to rock out for your entire round.
