Nike Driver Comparison: Vapor Pro vs VRS Covert 2.0 Tour

Vapor Pro

The Nike Vapor Pro driver features a 460cc pear shaped clubhead with a Covert Cavity and Fly Beams, Compression Channel, and Flex Loft 2.0 promoting pure distance with a tour proven launch.

The Covert Cavity with Fly Beams on the Nike Vapor Pro driver promotes more stiffness toward the back of the club. A stiffer clubhead creates more stability by moving the center of gravity (CG) closer to the clubface while maintaining a high moment of inertia (MOI). This combination results in more energy transferring to the ball at impact for increased speed and distance.

A more refined tuning and adjustability comes from Nike’s Flex Loft 2.0. This new hosel design is 30% lighter and offers 5 lofts and 3 face angles settings. These settings create a total of 15 adjustments, ranging from 8.5 degrees to 12.5 degrees. The lighter clubhead design allows weight to be redirected to other areas for improved launch conditions and stability. The stock shaft in the Nike Vapor Pro driver is the Diamana S+ Blue Board 60.

VRS Covert 2.0 Tour

The Nike VRS Covert 2.0 Tour driver uses the Cavity-back design with Fly-Brace technology, Flex Loft, and a stock Kuro Kage 60 graphite shaft to promote towering tee shots out of this pear shaped 460cc clubhead.

The Cavity-back design enables maximum energy to be transferred during impact while the Fly-Brace technology produces increased stability on off center hits, resulting in increased forgiveness and distance. Combine these two technologies and the result is one of the longest drivers available with a mid to high trajectory and low spin rate (slightly higher than the Nike VR-S Covert Tour driver).

The Flex Loft in the VRS Covert 2.0 Tour driver offers 5 loft and 3 face angle adjustments to dial in the optimal launch angle and spin rate for maximum carry with a lower spin rate. Adjustments can be made in .5 degree increments, ranging from 8.5 degrees to 12.5 degrees.
